Life and death

DAILY BIBLE READING:

Acts 5:1-42
Psalm 125:1-5
Proverbs 16:25

BIBLE VERSE(S) FOR TODAY:

Proverbs 16:25 "There is a way that seems right to a person, but its end is the way to death."

REFLECTIONS ON TODAY'S BIBLE VERSE(S):

In our Verse for Today, we are reminded that we don't know enough to live life on our own. We struggle with the three S's: sin, self, & Satan.

Sin - the sinful world system that tries to conform us to its image.

Self - the sinful propensity within us that calls us to reject God and His Word.

Satan - the evil foe who seeks to destroy all that is precious to God.

With this three things working against us, it is no wonder that we frequently make sinful choices. Sometimes, we aren't even aware that our choice(s) is opposed to what leads to freedom and life.

So, what are we to do?

Get into God's Word! God knows how we are wired. He knows what our needs are. He knows what we are up against. And He has given us His Word to instruct us and correct us.

If we follow His Word in this broken world, we will enjoy the freedom that comes from not being entangled in sin. We will enjoy reflecting the very life of Christ to those who are watching. They will be able to see "Jesus" in us.

And God may use this to draw them to Himself so that they receive the gift of eternal life. This is God's desire.

So, live in such a way that the end of their story is not death ... it's life!
